Job description
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform built for businesses. It helps millions of companies, from major enterprises to fast-growing startups, take payments, expand revenue, and open new paths for growth. The company’s mission is to raise the GDP of the internet, creating a broad opportunity to shape how the global economy works.
About the Product Design Team
The Product Design organization brings together multiple groups that shape every user-facing part of Stripe’s products. Designers work side by side with Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Marketers as strategic partners across product areas. Together, they define user experiences, turn them into polished design solutions, test them, launch them, and keep improving them. The goal is to build products that are both highly functional and genuinely delightful.
Stripe is hiring Product Designers for several areas, including Connect, Dashboard, Growth, and other teams. Final-stage team matching will help place candidates with a subteam, and consideration may also extend to other organizations based on experience, interests, and location.
Role Overview
In this role, you will partner closely with a specific business area and own work from concept through delivery. You will collaborate with fellow designers to maintain a high standard for craft, clarity, and overall user experience. The position blends product thinking, feature creation for both new and existing products, and a deep understanding of different user groups so you can design solutions that help more people start and successfully run their businesses on Stripe.
Responsibilities
- Create polished, user-focused design solutions that improve key product surfaces and strengthen the overall experience.
- Develop, prototype, and evaluate intuitive interactions that simplify complex workflows.
- Work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to shape both long-term direction and near-term execution.
- Produce UI work that reflects a very high standard of design quality.
- Present work in design critiques on a regular basis and actively support feedback-driven iteration.
- Partner with UX Research to guide design choices and confirm whether they work for users.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in product design.
- A portfolio showing strong design fundamentals and refined visual/UI execution.
- Proven experience working closely with cross-functional teams to influence product direction.
- The ability to weigh user needs, business priorities, and feedback from multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills for explaining design decisions and the reasoning behind them across different disciplines.
- Experience working across multiple product areas on unclear, complex problems.
- Ability to influence teams and help shape product strategy.
- Confidence presenting to senior leadership with clear, persuasive storytelling.
Hybrid Work Model
This position can be performed from an office location or from a remote location that is at least 35 miles (56 km) from a Stripe office.
Employees based in an office are expected to spend at least 50% of each month in their local office or with users. This is meant to balance in-person collaboration and learning with flexibility for individuals and teams.
Remote workers are expected to work primarily from home rather than a Stripe office. Remote locations are defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of Stripe’s offices. Travel to the office for team meetings, on-sites, meetups, and events is still welcome. Stripe does not pay relocation costs for those moving to a remote location, and applicants are encouraged to apply for roles aligned with where they currently live or plan to live.
Pay and Benefits
The annual base salary range in the US for this role is $175,200 to $262,800. For candidates outside the US, the salary range for their location may be requested during the interview process.
Possible additional benefits include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and wellness stipends.
