Role overview
As a Produce Clerk, you’ll help keep the store’s produce and grocery sections organized, fully stocked, and easy for customers to shop. This position is part of the Retail - Produce stream within Store Careers and is based in Kenora, Ontario at Safeway - 4808.
The employer is a long-established Canadian grocery retailer with operations across the country. Its broader mission is centered on helping customers eat better, feel better, and do better by creating positive shopping experiences. Full training is provided for this role.
What you’ll do
- Follow company procedures, standards, and policies at all times.
- Welcome shoppers courteously and support a friendly in-store experience.
- Deliver strong customer service in line with Safeway programs.
- Stock merchandise in areas such as dairy, frozen goods, perishables, and non-perishables.
- Build and maintain product displays according to store programs.
- Rotate stock to support freshness and reduce waste.
- Load and unload merchandise for the sales floor.
- Help with backroom organization and inventory control.
- Operate the cash register when needed to provide relief during busy periods.
- Take on other tasks assigned by the Store Manager.

- Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred.
- For Alberta roles, availability any time on Sunday is required.
- Physical ability to perform repeated lifting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, gripping, pushing, pulling, crouching, kneeling, and squatting.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 20–50 pounds occasionally.
- Occasional use of computers and point-of-sale systems.
