Primary Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers both locally and internationally to fulfill procurement requirements.
  • Establish and nurture strong partnerships with suppliers worldwide to ensure cost-efficient purchasing and prompt deliveries.
  • Research and onboard new vendors, ensuring they meet industry standards and capabilities.
  • Oversee procurement operations, making sure purchase orders comply with specifications, quality standards, and required quantities.
  • Collaborate with logistics units to guarantee timely and cost-effective transportation of goods from diverse locations.
  • Negotiate advantageous pricing, delivery timelines, and contract terms with local and international suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to local and global trade laws, customs regulations, and tariff policies.
  • Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts to safeguard mutually beneficial terms.
  • Monitor procurement budgets, striving for cost savings through consolidated orders, optimized shipping, and contract negotiations.
  • Generate reports detailing procurement expenditure and strategies to reduce costs.
  • Comply strictly with procurement policies, local and international trade regulations, and customs documentation requirements.
  • Maintain continuous updates on changes in trade laws, tariffs, and taxation to adjust strategies suitably.
  • Build and manage effective relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery are met.
  • Resolve supplier-related challenges promptly to avoid disruptions.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure smooth handling of international and local shipments and maintain balanced inventory levels.
  • Track shipments, manage customs clearance processes, and oversee related logistics activities.
  • Analyze procurement data including cost patterns, vendor performance, and delivery efficacy.
  • Prepare comprehensive periodic reports for management covering procurement activities, cost metrics, supplier evaluations, and potential issues.
  • Continuously improve procurement procedures for both local and international sourcing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of solid experience in procurement, emphasizing both domestic and international sourcing, ideally within the aviation sector.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, import/export protocols, and customs requirements.
  • Proven negotiation skills with international suppliers and experience managing contracts and cross-border logistics.
  • Familiarity with procurement platforms such as SAP, Infor, or similar international trade tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects and stringent deadlines.

Preferred Credentials

  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or International Trade credentials are advantageous.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially knowledge of languages relevant to key international markets, are a plus.
  • Experience navigating complex international logistics, customs, and tariff structures is beneficial.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time role with regular office hours.
  • Occasional international travel may be necessary for vendor evaluation, trade exhibitions, or negotiations.
  • Ability to coordinate with teams across multiple international time zones is required.
