Job description
Job Summary
We are looking for a resourceful and detail-driven Procurement Officer to support a hospitality operation in Abuja. The role focuses on obtaining quality goods and services, building strong supplier partnerships, negotiating favourable terms, and making sure operational needs are met on time without compromising on cost control or standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify suitable suppliers and vendors, assess their offers, and negotiate pricing and terms.
- Draft, raise, and track purchase orders along with other procurement-related documents.
- Keep an eye on stock levels and arrange replenishment before shortages occur.
- Balance quality, value for money, and prompt delivery when sourcing goods and services.
- Maintain organised procurement files and up-to-date supplier information.
- Research the market to find dependable vendors and competitive pricing options.
- Work closely with department leaders to understand purchasing requirements.
- Follow internal procurement rules, approval steps, and compliance standards.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally within hospitality.
- Strong capability in negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and procurement or inventory tracking tools.
- Well-developed organisation and analytical thinking skills.
- Able to perform effectively in a busy, fast-moving work environment.
