Role Summary
The Procurement Officer position is a full-time, on-location role based in Ibadan, Oyo State. This role supports project delivery by efficiently sourcing and purchasing required goods and services. Key duties involve preparing and managing purchase orders, soliciting and evaluating quotations, and coordinating with suppliers to guarantee prompt material and equipment delivery.
Key Responsibilities
The role also entails monitoring inventory, tracking all procurement activities, and maintaining meticulous procurement records aligned with company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in procurement processes and purchasing, especially sourcing materials/services within engineering or construction contexts.
- Experienced in preparing purchase orders and managing procurement documentation with keen attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
- Skilled in contract negotiations, including assessing terms, pricing, and service agreements with vendors.
- Strong analytical capabilities for comparing quotations, supplier evaluation, and optimizing costs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s procurement standards, legal requirements, and vendor management methods.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple procurements and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Competency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of procurement or ERP software is advantageous.
- Additional certifications like CIPS or other professional procurement qualifications are a plus.
