Role Overview

The Procurement Lead position, based onsite in Nairobi County, Kenya, involves complete supervision of procurement operations. This includes forecasting purchasing requirements, generating and managing purchase orders, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services, as well as evaluating and negotiating with suppliers. The role demands maintaining strong vendor relationships aligned with the organization's quality standards and budgetary constraints. Additional responsibilities include market trend monitoring, procurement data analysis, cost optimization strategies, policy compliance, record keeping, and preparing periodic procurement performance reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in procurement processes and purchase order management.
  • Skilled in assessing supplier performance and conducting contract negotiations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities for data-driven decision-making and enhancement of procurement efficiency.
  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within facilities management, education, nonprofits, or service industries.
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with procurement tools, ERP software, and general office applications.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with a high level of attention to detail and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work onsite, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and collaborate effectively across various teams.
