Job summary

Helic & Co is looking for a proactive, detail-focused procurement professional to handle buying activities and supplier coordination. The role involves identifying suitable vendors, negotiating commercial terms, managing purchase orders, and making sure materials and services arrive on time without sacrificing cost control or quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, review, and shortlist suppliers by comparing pricing, product quality, and delivery reliability.
  • Work out pricing, terms, and contractual arrangements with vendors.
  • Create and manage purchase orders to keep goods and services flowing on schedule.
  • Build productive supplier partnerships and address issues when they arise.
  • Watch stock levels and work with internal teams to estimate future requirements.
  • Follow company procurement rules, standards, and approval processes.
  • Measure and report procurement outcomes such as savings achieved and supplier performance.
  • Research the market to find new suppliers, sourcing opportunities, and industry trends.
  • Coordinate with finance and operations teams to ensure purchasing plans fit within budget.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is required.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities are essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is needed.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP or procurement software is preferred.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills are important.
  • The ability to work independently while juggling several priorities is expected.

Preferred skills

  • Background in strategic sourcing and vendor management.
  • Experience handling contracts and related documentation.
  • Understanding of budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Procurement certification such as CPSM or CIPS will be considered an advantage.
