Role overview

This opportunity is for experienced investment banking or private equity professionals who can support a research collaboration with a leading foundational AI lab. The work is aimed at finance experts with genuine deal execution exposure and the ability to construct financial models from the ground up. The assignment centers on applying capital markets knowledge to structured AI training tasks while producing outputs that resemble real desk-level work.

The engagement is entirely remote, asynchronous, and part-time, allowing you to contribute on a flexible schedule and deliver high-quality financial analysis work products.

Core responsibilities

• Create financial models from scratch in a way that reflects actual on-desk execution.
• Review, improve, and structure financial datasets and modeling outputs for AI research purposes.
• Pinpoint key assumptions, operating drivers, sensitivities, and valuation methodology.
• Prepare polished written responses that demonstrate strong domain knowledge.
• Work autonomously while following defined task formats and delivery timelines.

Ideal qualifications

• At least 2 years of full-time experience with a leading investment bank or private equity firm.
• Hands-on deal execution experience is required; academic-only experience will not be considered.
• Capability to reproduce detailed modeling work with accuracy and discipline.
• Strong financial modeling ability, analytical judgment, and clear communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage work independently.

Working arrangement and opportunity details

This is a fully remote, asynchronous contract, so you can fit the work around your current schedule. The expected workload is 20 or more hours per week. The contract is expected to run through the end of January, with a chance of extension. High performance may also open the door to additional well-paid projects in the future.

Vetting process

• A short behavioral interview of about 10 minutes focused on your prior deal experience.
• A technical assessment of under 30 minutes to test finance expertise and modeling ability.

Compensation and engagement terms

The role is paid at an hourly rate of $150. It is offered as an independent contractor engagement, and payments are processed through Stripe Connect.
