Private Equity Associate, Generalist

Role overview

A lower middle market private equity firm is seeking a Junior Associate to join its investment team in Tampa, Florida. This position provides broad exposure to the entire deal process, from originating opportunities through diligence, execution, ongoing portfolio oversight, and strategic projects alongside senior investment professionals.

The firm invests across several sectors and places particular emphasis on founder-led and family-owned businesses in industrials, business services, healthcare, and tech-enabled services.

Key responsibilities

• Help manage transaction execution and the due diligence workstream.
• Prepare, maintain, and review financial models and valuation analyses.
• Perform research on industries, individual companies, and market trends.
• Support the creation of investment committee materials and presentation decks.
• Collaborate with portfolio company leadership on operational and strategic priorities.
• Assess potential new deals as well as add-on acquisition opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking or private equity.
• Strong command of financial modeling and analytical work.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with strong presentation skills.
• Genuine interest in lower middle market investing and operationally oriented private equity.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
