Job description

Overview

This is a remote contract opportunity for a Privacy Annotation Specialist focused on reviewing legal materials, identifying sensitive information, and supporting privacy-compliant document workflows. The role is centered on careful document analysis, accurate labeling, and close coordination with legal and compliance teams.

The engagement is expected to require 10 to 40 hours each week, and the compensation range is $105 to $140 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine legal documents and tag personally identifiable information and other confidential material.
  • Apply contract review and eDiscovery knowledge to produce precise, reliable annotations and labels.
  • Check OCR results against source documents to confirm accuracy and preserve data quality in legal investigation work.
  • Work with compliance and legal technology stakeholders to support privacy rules and information governance standards.
  • Perform quality checks and batch-level audits to ensure work meets regulatory expectations.
  • Share observations and practical recommendations with cross-functional teams in a clear, useful format.

Requirements

  • Substantial hands-on background in contract review, quality assurance, eDiscovery, and compliance-related processes.
  • Strong knowledge of personally identifiable information and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Prior experience with organizations such as Consilio, Epiq, Relativity, KLDiscovery, or TransPerfect is considered an advantage.
  • Professional experience as a Paralegal, eDiscovery Specialist, Privacy Analyst, Information Governance Specialist, Compliance Manager, or Legal Document Review Lead is required.
  • Experience in legal document review, litigation support, or managed legal services is necessary.
  • A demonstrated history of handling sensitive information in demanding, high-risk environments is essential.
