Principal - Venture Capital

About the Role

Our client is an early-stage venture capital firm that supports ambitious technology founders across Europe. As the business expands, it is looking to add a Principal to its investment team in Berlin.

This position offers the chance for a seasoned investor to take on a central role throughout the investment journey, including deal sourcing, evaluating opportunities, executing investments, and helping portfolio companies grow. You will work closely with the partnership to refine investment thinking, develop meaningful connections across the startup landscape, and serve as a trusted sounding board for founders as they scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and drive promising investment opportunities from first contact through execution.
• Develop and nurture relationships with founders, investors, and the broader tech community.
• Perform detailed commercial, financial, and market due diligence.
• Prepare and present investment cases and recommendations to the partnership.
• Work with portfolio companies on strategy, fundraising, recruitment, and expansion.
• Represent the firm at sector events and help shape its wider investment direction.

Candidate Profile

• At least 6 years of experience across venture capital, growth equity, private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a fast-growing technology business.
• Proven ability to assess investment opportunities with strong commercial judgment.
• Well-developed network in the European technology ecosystem.
• Strong capabilities in analysis, communication, and relationship management.
• Real interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and early-stage investing.

Location

The role is based in Berlin, Germany and is expected to be performed onsite.
