Position Overview
The Sonrisa Group is hiring a Principal Chief Operating Officer to lead the operational and financial results of its expanding multi-state dental organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Reporting to the Founder and CEO, this executive will own day-to-day operations, drive strategic execution, strengthen profitability, and bring consistency across all affiliated companies.
This role calls for a disciplined, outcome-focused leader who has a strong record of improving financial performance, streamlining operations, building leadership capability, and delivering growth while preserving a culture of accountability, professionalism, and outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the operational and financial performance of every company within The Sonrisa Group.
- Create and execute operating plans that increase profitability, improve efficiency, and raise overall organizational performance.
- Set, track, and manage KPIs, budgets, and financial measures to maintain accountability throughout the business.
- Work closely with the CEO on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and expansion plans.
- Lead regional leadership teams and oversee office operations, human resources, revenue cycle activities, procurement, facilities, and administrative support functions.
- Raise productivity, control costs, enhance patient experience, and standardize operations through repeatable processes and continuous improvement.
- Hire, coach, and develop strong leaders while supporting a culture built on accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, operational standards, and internal company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a closely related discipline; an MBA is preferred.
- At least 10 years of executive-level leadership experience in a multi-site healthcare or service environment, with dental or DSO experience considered an advantage.
- Proven track record of owning P&L responsibility, budgets, operational results, and organizational growth.
- Strong financial expertise with hands-on experience in forecasting, budgeting, cost control, and performance management.
- Ability to guide cross-functional teams, deploy scalable systems, and navigate organizational change effectively.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
