About the School
Horizon School is a state-integrated Christian school in the coastal community of Snells Beach, overlooking the Mahurangi River. The school teaches students from Years 0 to 13 and is part of the KingsWay Trust. Its vision is to nurture lifelong growth in learners so they live with faith, courage, and forward-looking purpose.

About the Opportunity
The school is looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join its Years 1-6 team. This role is focused on helping young learners build solid foundations through carefully designed, varied learning experiences in a supportive Christian environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and teach engaging learning programmes that reflect Christian values and align with the New Zealand Curriculum.
- Use inclusive and culturally responsive approaches that recognise and value every child.
- Develop positive connections with students, families, and the wider school community.
- Work closely with colleagues to support the overall development of each learner.
- Help strengthen the school’s Christian character by integrating faith and learning in meaningful ways.
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A current practising teacher certificate.
- A strong commitment to Christian education and the special character of the school.
- Well-developed classroom management and teaching skills.
- Working knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships effectively.

- Previous experience in composite classes or small-school environments.
