Job description
Role overview
Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK) in Qatar is seeking an exceptional Primary Teacher to become part of a collaborative and well-established team in a successful school that continues to grow. The school serves children from age 3 to 18 and has more than 1,350 students enrolled, with the Primary phase running mainly as a four-form entry setting and serving around 750 pupils. Located in Al Khor, about 35 minutes north of Doha, the school educates both local and expatriate learners through a tailored Primary programme that blends the English National Curriculum with Qatar’s Ministry of Education curriculum. Students also benefit from indoor and outdoor learning areas, a contemporary dance studio, and a heated 25m outdoor swimming pool.
Purpose of the role
The successful teacher will work with the Primary leadership team to help deliver the school’s mission by providing a high standard of education for children. The role calls for an excellent classroom practitioner who brings positivity, adaptability, and a strong commitment to ongoing professional growth. The postholder is expected to reflect the mission, vision, and values of Nord Anglia International School Al Khor and Nord Anglia Education, teach and assess to a high standard, and support pupils in reaching their full potential.
Key duties
- Support the school’s mission and approach so that pupils develop as genuinely bilingual international citizens.
- Prepare, plan, record, assess, and report to a consistently high standard while meeting the academic and social needs of learners.
- Remain adaptable to school priorities and contribute actively to development plans and expansion.
- Put agreed policies and initiatives into practice.
- Show strong curriculum knowledge and deliver effective teaching and assessment.
- Use tracking and monitoring systems to improve pupil progress and strengthen professional practice in line with the school’s goals.
- Take ownership of personal professional development.
- Represent the school positively and communicate its story clearly at all times.
Additional opportunity
There may be an opening for a Head of Year or another middle leadership position for the most suitable candidate.
Application process
Applicants are expected to provide a CV, a cover letter, and contact details for two professional referees, including the current Head Teacher or Principal. The application deadline is 12 June 2026, and the school may close the recruitment process earlier if an ideal candidate is identified. The expected start date is 1 August 2026.
Safeguarding and vetting
The school is committed to creating a safe, happy, and world-class environment where children and young people can learn and thrive. Safeguarding and pupil welfare are central priorities, and the organisation promotes equality regardless of race, ability, religion, gender, or culture. Because the role involves regulated activity with regular unsupervised contact with children, the successful applicant will need to complete the required national and international vetting checks, including satisfactory criminal record clearances from the country of residence or birth and from any country where they have lived during the past 10 years.
