About the Role

Etqan Global Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced DP Mathematics Teacher specializing in Applications and Interpretation to join their team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation curriculum at Standard Level (SL) and/or Higher Level (HL), inspiring students to utilize mathematics as a powerful tool for understanding and solving real-world problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation lessons (SL/HL) in line with IB curriculum standards and examination requirements.
• Cultivate students' mathematical reasoning, modeling capabilities, statistical understanding, and proficiency in using technology, including graphing calculators and mathematical software.
• Oversee the Internal Assessment (Mathematical Exploration) process, providing students with structured guidance, support, and constructive feedback.
• Prepare students thoroughly for IB external examinations through data-driven and rigorous teaching methodologies.
• Implement effective differentiation strategies to cater to the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with additional needs or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
• Teach MYP Mathematics as required by the timetable, maintaining high educational standards and promoting inquiry-based learning approaches.
• Actively contribute to the Mathematics department and the broader school community at EGA.

Requirements

• Possess a recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate proven experience in teaching IB DP Mathematics, with a preference for the Applications and Interpretation stream.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of IB DP assessment frameworks, Internal Assessment procedures, and examination preparation strategies.
• Proficiency in utilizing graphing calculators, mathematical software, and educational technology to enhance student learning.
• Possess excellent classroom management, interpersonal communication, and student differentiation skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students is essential.
• IB DP Mathematics workshop training is considered an advantage.
• International school experience is desirable.
• Ability to meet the visa requirements for employment in Qatar.

This is a full-time, onsite position. The school is committed to safeguarding and requires all employees to undergo satisfactory background checks, including an Enhanced DBS or equivalent.
