Role Overview

As a Pricing Estimator reporting to the Pricing Estimator Manager for the Lower Central Hub, your main responsibility will be to deliver competitive and precise price estimates on building materials and products tailored for trade customers. Your role is crucial in ensuring customers are well-prepared for their construction projects while maintaining high standards of service within set deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce timely and accurate quotations, including the submission of schedules and management of outsourced items.
  • Organize and maintain an efficient documentation and filing system for estimates.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and internal sales teams to control and minimize quantity surveying costs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with local representatives from preferred suppliers.
  • Support the entire tender process to help generate and increase sales opportunities.
  • Ensure price increases and freight charges are regularly reviewed and applied as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong analytical abilities, comfortable working with numerical data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that build trust and lasting rapport with trade customers.
  • Highly attentive to detail, efficient, and accurate in work delivery.
  • Proficient in MS Excel with solid data entry experience.
  • Familiarity with the building industry is advantageous.
  • A team player who thrives in collaborative environments.

Additional Details

This position is currently located in Taita, Lower Hutt, with a planned office move to Upper Hutt in 2027.
