Job description
About Prep Network
Prep Network runs a large network of more than 100 websites designed to increase the visibility and value of high school athletes across all levels. Its scouting teams contribute year-round coverage that includes content creation, player rankings, and event reporting.
The company’s portfolio includes Prep Hoops, Prep Girls Hoops, Prep Redzone, Prep Dig, and Prep Lacrosse. Across these platforms, more than 300 scouts nationwide publish over 2,500 articles each month covering prep basketball, football, and volleyball. Prep Network also hosts over 100 tournaments and showcases every year, bringing together hundreds of teams and thousands of prospects from across the country.
Role Overview
In this scouting role, you will produce written and social content, attend high school and club games, review game film, and share player-focused analysis on the company’s website. You will also tap into your established relationships with high school and college coaches in your area to help expand the company’s reach.
This is a fast-growing sports media environment where your work will have visible impact. Alongside supporting athletes in their recruiting journey, the team is looking for someone whose attitude, work ethic, and enthusiasm for learning and growth align with the company culture.
Responsibilities
- Cover high school and club games and turn observations into written and social media content.
- Support the promotion of athletes at all stages of the college recruiting process.
- Collaborate with other contributors to increase the value delivered to teams, players, and coaches in your state.
- Build relationships with coaches across levels to strengthen the brand’s presence.
What the Company Is Looking For
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help grow a leading high school sports network.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to take on any task needed to build something successful.
- Self-driven work habits and the ability to perform independently without close supervision.
- Strong communication abilities, including interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with Google apps including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs.
Benefits and Perks
- Flexible work approach, with emphasis placed more on output and quality than location.
- A positive team environment made up of curious, motivated people who enjoy working hard and having fun.
- Room to grow into a broader role as your impact increases.
