Role Overview
This position supports the steam tunnel process by preparing garments and checking them carefully before they move forward in production. The role is based on maintaining quality standards and ensuring items are ready for the next stage of processing.
Key Duties
- Place garments on hangers so they can be sent through the steam tunnel.
- Inspect each item closely for tears, holes, stains, and other damage.
- Confirm that garments meet UniFirst's 10-point uniform inspection standard.
- Work in line with all safety rules and training guidelines.
- Carry out additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this position, candidates should be able to complete all essential duties to the expected performance standards for the job area. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with a supervisor.
- Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying or dividing by 10s and 100s.
- Comfort using American standard units for weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs and push up to 25 lbs.
