EGI operates from offices in Belgium, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Canada, and the United States.

Role overview

EGI is expanding its team working on power system operations and security, especially in the context of high renewable energy penetration and the integration of energy and balancing markets. The role is suited to professionals with transmission system operation experience who can contribute to local and international projects related to renewable energy integration, supply security, sustainability, and the economic performance of power systems.

Key work areas

  • Develop and assess operating principles for power systems.
  • Prepare and validate models used for system studies.
  • Carry out steady-state studies such as load flow and short-circuit analysis.
  • Perform dynamic stability assessments, including frequency and voltage stability.
  • Review grid code obligations and evaluate connection compliance.

Profile

The final scope of responsibility will depend on the candidate’s background and expertise and will be discussed during interviews with management.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Between 2 and 10 years of relevant experience in power system operations and security, including balancing, renewable energy integration, system operation, and modern technology solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of simulation software such as PowerFactory and PSS/E.
  • Ability to turn complex data into practical strategic insights and action points.
  • Strong command of English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic, German, Dutch, or French is considered a strong advantage.

What the company offers

  • A permanent employment option or freelance engagement.
  • A competitive compensation package with a broad range of additional benefits.
  • An engaging, professional, and international workplace in a fast-growing organisation.
  • Training opportunities along with personal development and career growth support.

The role is based in Riyadh and requires mobility of around 20% worldwide, including the willingness to travel abroad for international assignments depending on business development or project needs.

The company also highlights its broader mission of supporting the power sector’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy, smarter and more flexible grids, decentralised generation, and HVDC systems connecting countries, regions, and energy markets.
