Job description
About Nava
Nava is at the forefront of developing next-generation AI infrastructure and GPU cloud platforms throughout the APAC region. As we expand our footprint of data centres, we seek a seasoned Power Infrastructure Leader to oversee the design, dependability, operations, and enhancement of critical electrical systems that support large-scale AI workloads.
Role Overview
This leadership position demands advanced knowledge in electrical engineering, mission-critical facility management, and highly reliable data centre operations. You will manage the full lifecycle of electrical infrastructure across Nava's data centres, from strategy and design to commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing optimizations. The goal is to maintain the utmost reliability, operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulations.
You will collaborate with teams across Data Centre Operations, Mechanical Engineering, Network Infrastructure, Facilities, Construction, and external partners to guarantee continuous power supply for mission-critical AI and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, deployment, commissioning, and lifecycle management of electrical infrastructure in Tier III+/IV data centres.
- Plan long-term power capacity aligning with business expansion and AI infrastructure needs.
- Promote engineering standards, operational excellence, and continuous system improvements.
- Direct operations and upkeep of UPS systems, diesel generators, medium & low voltage switchgear, transformers, ATS and STS, PDUs, busway systems, and battery backup systems (VRLA and Lithium-ion), ensuring N+1 / 2N redundancy.
- Maintain 99.999% service uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Conduct root cause analyses on electrical incidents and implement corrective as well as preventive solutions.
- Develop emergency protocols, failover strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
- Manage Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and Building Management Systems (BMS) to enable real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and automation aimed at enhancing reliability and minimizing risks.
- Monitor electrical load distribution, capacity utilization, and power quality.
- Lead initiatives to improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), increase energy efficiency, adopt renewable sources, and reduce carbon footprint in line with Singapore's Green Data Centre Roadmap.
- Supervise vendors including EPC contractors, OEMs, electrical consultants, and maintenance providers; review electrical designs, commissioning reports, and acceptance testing.
- Support expansion projects and greenfield data centre construction.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering best engineering practices, knowledge sharing, and operational preparedness.
- Partner with global teams to bolster overall infrastructure resilience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Over 10 years’ experience in managing mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
- At least 5 years’ leadership experience overseeing engineering teams.
- Experience with Tier III/IV Data Centres, hyperscalers, colocation providers, or large enterprise facilities.
- Strong grasp of electrical safety standards and best operational practices.
Technical Competencies
- Hands-on expertise in UPS systems, diesel generators, medium and low voltage electrical distribution, switchgear, transformers, ATS/STS, PDUs & RPPs, busway infrastructure, battery backup systems, electrical protection, power monitoring, load bank testing, and power quality analysis.
- Proficient in Data Centre Infrastructure Management platforms (Sunbird, Nlyte, Vertiv Trellis, Schneider EcoStruxure), Building Management Systems, and SCADA systems.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Experience with AI/HPC clusters or GPU-based infrastructures.
- Knowledge of liquid cooling and high-density power data centres.
- Familiarity with renewable energy integration and smart grid technologies.
- Experience working within Singapore or broader APAC data centre sectors.
- Certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, DCEP, Data Centre Energy Practitioner, Professional Engineer (Electrical), PMP, and vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Eaton).
Why Nava?
- Influence at scale by designing and deploying crucial infrastructure powering leading-edge AI and cloud workloads globally.
- Engage with APAC’s most advanced GPU and hyperscale data centre environments blending innovation and scale.
- Embrace autonomy and leadership over strategic engineering projects.
- Access personalized professional development with tailored learning paths, leadership programs, certifications, and mentorship.
- Work alongside world-class engineers in a fast-paced, trust-based, and learning-driven environment.
