About the role
Te Kotahi Research Institute is looking for an organised and polished Pouwhakahaere Tari – Administrator to deliver dependable administrative and operational assistance across the Institute. You will act as a central coordination contact and first point of contact, helping keep day-to-day activity running smoothly while supporting a welcoming, mana-enhancing environment for staff, partners and manuwhiri.
Your work will cover administration, finance-related support, event coordination, communications and stakeholder engagement. In partnership with the Operations Manager, Director and wider Institute team, you will contribute to work that strengthens research for and with iwi and Māori.
This is a permanent part-time role for 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE), based at Te Kotahi Research Institute on the Hillcrest Campus. The salary range is $60,046 to $72,636 per year, prorated according to the skills, knowledge and experience you bring.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the Institute.
- Serve as a trusted contact point and help coordinate daily operations.
- Assist with administrative tasks, financial support, events, communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Work alongside the Operations Manager, Director and wider team to support Institute priorities.
- Help maintain a professional, respectful and mana-enhancing experience for staff, partners and visitors.

You are a capable administrator who performs well in a fast-moving environment and takes pride in delivering excellent support. You bring strong organisation, accuracy and the ability to balance several priorities while remaining approachable and professional.
