Postal Delivery Driver

About the Role

Based at Farnham Delivery Office (GU9 7LQ), this permanent position offers a rewarding opportunity to be a Postal Delivery Driver with Royal Mail. You will deliver letters and parcels, acting as a key part of the community service. The role requires working 37 hours per week over five days in a seven-day cycle including weekends, typically from 11:55 to 20:00, with a rota system determining specific shifts and routes which may vary depending on demand. Sunday work is also expected on a rota basis.

Key Duties

• Organize and sort mail and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post locally using both van and foot delivery routes
• Build rapport with customers while maintaining a high standard of service
• Operate outdoors regardless of weather conditions

The work can be physically demanding, involving walking distances up to approximately 12 miles daily, driving a delivery van, managing heavy mailbags exceeding 10kg, and working efficiently within time-sensitive schedules, especially during busy periods.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a full manual UK driving licence, registered in current name and address, with no more than six penalty points
• Ability and willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment
• Physical fitness to sustain long-distance walking and handle mailbags safely
• Self-motivated, reliable, well-organized, and resilient in a fast-paced environment
• Customer-oriented mindset with pride in reliable service delivery
• Comfortable working independently and outdoors

Additional Information
