About the Role
Join a locally owned and operated Shoppers Drug Mart store and contribute to delivering essential health, beauty, and convenience services within your community. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of the post office services, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and departmental revenue maximization.
Summary
The Post Office Manager is responsible for overseeing and delivering full-service retail postal operations, including courier items, postal boxes, money transfers, and call-in parcels. The goal is to maximize department revenue and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead by example, ensuring Post Office staff embody the company's CORE Values.
- Participate in the hiring process by interviewing candidates and making recommendations for final selection.
- Ensure Post Office cashiers adhere to all Store Standards.
- Provide comprehensive training to employees on job functions and offer continuous coaching and guidance.
- Assist in conducting performance reviews for Post Office cashier staff in collaboration with the Front Store Manager (FSM).
Customer Service Excellence
- Guarantee that customer service consistently exceeds expectations.
- Ensure all employees maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the Uniform Policy.
Loss Prevention
- Implement and ensure adherence to all loss prevention systems and procedures as per company Standards.
- Verify that all procedures related to parcel checks are strictly followed.
Qualifications
Planning, Judgement, and Decision Making:
- Demonstrate independent thinking and decision-making capabilities when addressing customer requests and issues.
- Make sound judgments and decisions by effectively asking pertinent questions to arrive at appropriate solutions.
- Possess the ability to act upon and achieve tasks and goals set by management.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail environment and with cash handling is required.
- Possess superior interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit efficient time management abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrate effective organization and planning skills.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service is paramount.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, which may include evenings and weekends.
