Job description
Overview
Mindrift brings subject-matter experts into project-based AI work for major technology companies. The focus is on assessing, testing, and refining AI systems. This is not a permanent role; participation happens on a project-by-project basis.
What you'll do
The exact work changes from one project to another, but typical tasks may include:
- Building and reviewing quarterly business review scenarios, such as performance against benchmarks, drift in allocations versus IPS tolerance ranges, and significant updates to fund documents.
- Creating test cases for rebalancing and tax-loss harvesting, including cost basis handling, short-term versus long-term capital gains, and application of the wash-sale rule.
- Developing suitability scenarios that assess risk tolerance, investment horizon, restricted holdings, and concentration limits against a client's Investment Policy Statement.
- Preparing fee-stack analysis examples, including portfolio-weighted expense ratios, advisory fees, and all-in cost comparisons with category benchmarks.
- Writing clear, well-documented test cases with checked calculations, policy references, and the correct final answers.
Profile we are looking for
This opportunity suits professionals with experience in investment management, financial advisory, or wider financial services who are open to flexible, part-time project work. Strong candidates will typically have a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline, along with at least 2 years of experience in finance, investment, accounting, or financial services. Recent or current work in advisory, management, or similar roles is preferred. Practical familiarity with portfolio performance analysis, tax-lot accounting, wash-sale rules, and Investment Policy Statements is important, and credentials such as CFA, CFP, CPWA, CIMA, or CIPM are viewed positively. Strong written English at C1 level or above is required.
Project details
Applicants should submit a CV in English and clearly state their English proficiency level. The role follows a simple workflow: apply, complete the qualification stage(s), join a project, finish assigned tasks, and receive payment. During active project periods, the expected workload is around 10 to 20 hours per week, though this is only an estimate and not a guaranteed schedule.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to the equivalent of $60 per hour on this project, depending on experience and working pace. Pay can differ from one project to another based on scope, complexity, and the expertise required.
