Role Summary

The Porter/Detailer supports quality repair work by preparing customer vehicles before repairs, cleaning them for delivery after repairs, and keeping the shop, office, and grounds clean and orderly.

Key Duties

  • Carry out the WOW operating process consistently.
  • Keep office interiors clean each day by emptying trash, cleaning floors, and dusting counters and work surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the production area by removing waste, sweeping floors, discarding unwanted vehicle parts, and returning tools and equipment to their proper places.
  • Keep parking areas and surrounding grounds neat, including clearing sidewalks of snow when needed.
  • Wash customer vehicles before repair work begins.
  • Clean the outside and inside of vehicles once repairs are complete.
  • Move customer vehicles to outside repair vendors when needed.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Automotive background is preferred.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Need clear near vision.
  • Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong attention to detail is important.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and carry items.
  • Walking required for 5+ hours.
  • Some sitting is expected.
  • Standing required for 5+ hours.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling required for 1+ hour.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Additional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required.
