Role overview
This part-time hybrid position is based in Abu Dhabi and combines on-site involvement with the flexibility of working from home. The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for keeping day-to-day plant activities running smoothly, safely, and efficiently while maintaining cost control.
What you will do
- Plan and coordinate production activities, schedules, and workflow to support efficient plant output.
- Monitor operational performance and take action to keep operations safe, productive, and economical.
- Supervise plant personnel and help guide teams in line with business objectives.
- Put operational procedures into practice and ensure they are followed consistently.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Track equipment condition, coordinate maintenance tasks, and address operational disruptions to reduce downtime.
- Review key performance indicators, prepare reports, and share updates that support decision-making.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and contribute to broader strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Background in plant operations or operations management, with solid knowledge of production methods, resource planning, and workflow improvement.
- Proven ability to lead teams, support performance development, coach employees, and encourage accountability and safe working practices.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards and experience applying them in the workplace.
- Practical experience coordinating maintenance and supporting equipment reliability, along with a basic grasp of mechanical or industrial systems.
- Comfort with data analysis, reporting, spreadsheets, or ERP tools for KPI tracking and operational support.
- Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle several priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Management, or a related discipline; professional certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup with both on-site and remote collaboration.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial facilities, or similar sectors in the GCC region is preferred.
