You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a fleet that includes diggers, dumpers, and hand tools. Most work will be based in the depot, with occasional visits to customer locations when repairs or maintenance are needed on site.
This opportunity is suited to someone looking for a practical role with strong long-term development prospects in a business that continues to grow.
Key duties
- Carry out servicing and maintenance across a broad range of plant and tool equipment in the fleet.
- Identify mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently to reduce equipment downtime.
- Keep service documentation accurate and ensure work meets safety and compliance requirements.
- Attend customer sites from time to time to perform repairs or maintenance work.
- Work with depot colleagues to support equipment availability and customer satisfaction.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will bring solid technical ability, a practical mindset, and a calm approach when dealing with pressure. Experience as a plant mechanic or fitter is preferred, though a relevant qualification or a time-served background in a similar trade with transferable skills will also be considered.
Applicants should have current knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance, strong attention to detail, and a team-oriented, customer-conscious attitude. A full driving licence is preferred, but not mandatory.
