Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Plant Director to oversee daily operations including production, fulfillment, and packaging. This leadership role requires direct involvement on the operational floor to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct comprehensive plant operations encompassing production, fulfillment, and shipping functions.
- Ensure timely execution within compressed lead times and manage workflow visibility to guarantee on-time order delivery.
- Oversee daily readiness in staffing, materials, and production priorities.
- Enhance throughput by identifying operational bottlenecks and driving efficiency improvements.
- Manage labor costs, optimize workforce deployment, and implement process enhancements to increase output cost-effectively.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and production staff while establishing performance standards and accountability.
- Promote a culture emphasizing ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement aligned with production plans.
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards including GMP, FDA, and HACCP.
- Collaborate across departments such as Customer Service, Sales, Quality Assurance, and Operations to communicate status, risks, and support product launches.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 or more years’ experience in plant or operations management within food production, packaging, or regulated manufacturing.
- Proven ability managing complex, high-volume, and short lead-time manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in throughput optimization, labor planning, and executing production plans efficiently.
- Leadership experience demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and HACCP standards is preferred.
