About the Company

Dar Al Omran is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Planning Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is essential for driving successful project completions through expert planning and control within the construction industry.

Role Overview

The chosen individual will be responsible for crafting and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, evaluating project outcomes, monitoring advancement, and providing robust support to project teams to ensure projects finish on time and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and supervise detailed project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to develop work breakdown structures (WBS), timeline frameworks, and resource planning.
  • Monitor project progress, identify delays, and formulate corrective recovery strategies as necessary.
  • Generate regular reports including planning dashboards, KPIs, and presentations for both management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct schedule analyses, resource load evaluations, Earned Value Management (EVM), and schedule risk assessments.
  • Examine project contracts and assist with claims and extension of time (EOT) evaluations, ensuring compliance with FIDIC standards.
  • Engage in project meetings, offering expert planning guidance to enhance project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project planning and control within the construction sector.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment is advantageous.
  • Experience in health care construction projects is mandatory.

Required Skills

  • Capability to independently oversee medium to large-scale construction projects with minimal oversight.
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 (mandatory) and proficiency with Microsoft Project.
  • In-depth understanding of FIDIC contract clauses related to project timing, delays, and claims.
  • Familiarity with work breakdown structures coding, Earned Value Management, resource loading, key performance indicators, and risk analysis in scheduling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for preparing detailed reports and delivering presentations confidently to stakeholders.
