About the client
A leading local government organisation in the Water Networks team is looking for an experienced Planning and Maintenance Officer (Technical). This role is suited to a well-organised administration professional who has hands-on experience supporting maintenance planning and coordination, and who wants to help deliver important infrastructure services across the region.
Key duties
- Check maintenance requests, action them, and create the relevant work orders.
- Organise how maintenance tasks are assigned and moved through the team.
- Support the planning and reporting of capital works and renewal projects.
- Assist with programs related to water meter renewal and replacement.
- Keep asset records current and maintain operational databases.
- Review maintenance trends and asset performance information.
- Draft reports and supporting documents for operational and compliance needs.
- Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to planning and operations staff.
- Maintain team records, procedures, and on-call rosters.
What you’ll need
- Previous experience in administration, planning, or maintenance support positions.
- Strong time management and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- Exposure to CMMS, asset management, or maintenance software is an advantage.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
- Comfort working independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and practical problem-solving ability.
- Certificate III in Business Administration, or a similar qualification, is desirable.
- Background in asset maintenance, utilities, water, construction, or local government is desirable.
- Understanding of maintenance planning and asset management concepts.
