Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update project schedules compliant with project requirements and execution strategies.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of detailed work packages.
- Facilitate communication and alignment of planning and scheduling efforts between project teams, clients, and EPC contractors.
- Track progress across engineering, procurement, construction, and other project phases.
- Generate daily and weekly reports detailing project progress and performance metrics.
- Contribute to earned value analysis and evaluate project performance against baseline schedules.
- Detect schedule deviations, delays, constraints, and identify emerging risks.
- Develop and upkeep detailed Level 3 engineering and project schedules.
- Assist in managing and revising the Client Master Schedule.
- Monitor engineering deliverables via Master Document and Engineering Deliverables Status Registers.
- Assess engineering progress against project schedules and progress measurement systems.
- Supervise procurement plans, purchase orders, vendor documentation, and delivery timelines for equipment and materials.
- Prepare procurement progress reports and highlight factors potentially impacting major milestones.
- Evaluate contractor schedules, progress reports, look-ahead plans, and forecasts.
- Support the verification of quantities in contractor progress claims.
- Confirm reported physical progress by comparing it with related project documentation and completed tasks.
- Focus on critical and near-critical tasks and analyze their potential effect on project completion dates.
- Aid in constructing schedule recovery and mitigation plans when necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to validate progress and update forecasted completion dates.
- Prepare detailed schedule analyses, progress dashboards, and planning data for project management reviews.
- Maintain accurate records of planning activities ensuring alignment with project methodologies, client expectations, and company standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management or closely related fields.
- Relevant experience in project planning, scheduling or project control roles within oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, energy or industrial sectors.
- Exposure supporting EPC, downstream, brownfield, or on-site execution projects is preferred.
- Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and forecasting methodologies.
- Proficient user of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Experience developing and sustaining detailed Level 3 engineering and project schedules.
- Familiarity with earned value management and schedule performance analysis.
- Knowledge of managing engineering deliverables through registers like Master Document and Engineering Deliverables Status Registers.
- Experience overseeing procurement timelines, vendor documentation, and delivery schedules.
- Ability to review contractor progress reports and verify claimed quantities.
- Good understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning workflows.
- Adept at identifying scheduling risks, constraints, and potential delays.
- Strong analytical thinking, organizational capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in the Jazan project location.
- Experience with EcoSys and Power BI is advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE or equivalent project controls qualifications are beneficial.
- Previous work experience within Saudi Arabia, Middle East, or downstream project environments is a plus.
