Job description
About the Role
Great Lake Physio in Taupo is seeking a motivated physiotherapist to join its busy musculoskeletal and sports-focused clinic. The role involves delivering prompt assessments and tailored treatment plans for clients across a range of conditions. The team also supports several ACC-related services, including vocational support, training for independence, concussion care, and pain management. The clinic is based beside the town’s largest modern gym, which is used frequently for exercise-based rehabilitation.
The practice works closely with local sports clubs because of its strong focus on sports physiotherapy, and it provides physio support for the provincial rugby union team, King Country, as well as a number of sporting tournaments held in Taupo throughout the year.
This opportunity is a strong fit for a clinician who is enthusiastic about patient care and also values a high quality of life in a scenic location with lakefront views, bike trails, and walking routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate acute injuries and deliver appropriate treatment across a broad range of conditions.
- Design and carry out rehabilitation programmes both in the clinic and within the community.
- Work collaboratively with other allied health professionals.
- Prepare reports outlining client capacity, goals, and evidence-based intervention plans.
- Use diary management software to organise appointments and workflow.
Benefits
- Competitive pay aligned to the market.
- Complimentary gym membership.
- Monthly bonus opportunity to increase earnings.
- Annual allowance for professional development and study.
- Access to a company vehicle for client visits.
- Relocation support if moving to the area for the role.
- Reimbursement of professional registration and APC fees, adjusted for part-time hours.
- Permanent employment with a clear path for progression.
- Structured development pathways toward leadership opportunities.
- Positive team environment with social activities, weekly treats, and recognition awards.
- Well-being support including an annual eye exam, flu vaccination, and EAP access.
Technology and Performance Support
The organisation provides clinicians with Heidi notes, an AI medical scribe designed to streamline clinical documentation and reduce administrative workload. This allows more time to focus on patient care while also supporting stronger use of the uncapped incentive programme, which offers an additional performance bonus each month.
Candidate Profile
- Current New Zealand physiotherapy registration and an active APC are required.
- More than two years of experience is an advantage, although recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- A full New Zealand driver licence is needed for community rehabilitation work.
- Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with a wide variety of people.
Support for Overseas Physiotherapists
- As an accredited employer, assistance will be provided through the AEWV process.
- Support is available to help with settling into New Zealand.
- Contribution toward relocation expenses is offered.
