About the Role

K-State Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate for a temporary, full-time Photography Post Grad Intern position, lasting up to 24 months. This role is crucial for supporting K-State Athletics' photographic needs and managing its student internship program. The position is based in Manhattan, Kansas, and requires onsite work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive photo coverage for athletic competitions, practices, workouts, press conferences, team travel, special events, recruiting activities, and other team-related functions.
  • Manage and maintain a detailed Photoshelter library, ensuring all images are accurately labeled and archived.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging national trends in digital media to ensure the K-State Athletics digital media division operates at a high standard.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement within the digital media operations.
  • Oversee the K-State Athletics photography student internship program, including managing daily schedules, assignments, and ensuring quality control and timely task completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of basic studio and on-location lighting techniques, principles, and equipment.
  • Extensive experience with Photo Shelter, Photo Mechanic, and Influencer software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong emphasis on Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • A solid understanding of the collegiate sports landscape, industry standards, and current photographic trends.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 Conference recruiting rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with potential for occasional travel.
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external staff and management.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative with a high level of creativity in visual storytelling.
  • Must comply with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, Kansas State University, and K-State Athletics, Inc. rules and regulations.

Eligibility

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship. All employees must reside in the United States while employed. K-State is unable to offer remote or hybrid work arrangements for residents of Idaho.

Education Required

A 4-year degree is required.
