Role overview
This opportunity is for Phoenix Category Management. It is a returnship program designed for women returning after a career break. The role is based in Bengaluru and follows an onsite format. The engagement lasts for 6 months.
What the role involves
- Oversee and manage business portfolios across the assigned category.
- Handle a broad scope of work covering analytics, financial planning, range planning, sourcing, and coordination with vendors and internal teams.
Key responsibilities
- Improve sales performance across a defined group of products.
- Drive growth in revenue, margins, and category performance.
- Work on assortment and range planning for the category.
- Map products to brands and plan the category range accordingly.
- Apply strong product knowledge along with cost awareness.
- Forecast effectively to improve profitability and support promotional planning.
- Study competitors, market trends, and assortment patterns.
- Review sales, margin, discount, and inventory data to support decision-making.
- Develop option planning and assist with open-to-buy planning in partnership with the central planning team.
- Manage inventory and plan the inventory movement for the full category.
- Lead a team that includes designers, factory operations, and sourcing functions.
- Manage vendors, strengthen the vendor network, and support vendor-product alignment.
- Build a strong base of fabrics, printing partners, and vendors.
- Create supply-chain processes so production can move from concept to delivery within 30 days.
- Work closely with brands and coordinate with sales and marketing teams to support category growth.
Qualifications and experience
- At least 6 years of experience in a fashion-related background.
- Prior exposure to category management in a relevant product area.
- Good understanding of market behavior and practical business judgment.
- Strong ability to negotiate and maintain professional networks.
- Comfort with numbers and experience in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data.
