About the role
Woolworths Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Retail Assistant to join the Wainuiomata team in Lower Hutt. This role sits within the Pharmacy Manager’s team and offers the chance to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the local community.
The pharmacy network spans more than 45 locations nationwide, supporting customers with convenient access to pharmacy services. The business values people who enjoy working in a customer-focused environment and want to make a positive difference in everyday community life.
Work schedule
The position follows the roster below:
- Monday: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Thursday: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Key responsibilities
You will support day-to-day pharmacy retail activity and help create a welcoming experience for customers. Typical duties include assisting shoppers, keeping the store area well presented, handling transactions, and sharing product guidance where appropriate.
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, approachable manner
- Maintain tidy, well-stocked shelves and aisles
- Process cash and payment transactions accurately
- Offer product information and recommendations when needed
What you need
To do well in this role, you should bring a positive attitude, strong people skills, and the ability to quickly learn new tools and systems. A background or study path in pharmacy is strongly preferred.

- Comfort learning new technology and systems
- Preference for applicants studying toward a Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Technician qualification
