Job description
Overview
The Pharmaceutical Production Incharge is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations on the shop floor, ensuring that medicine production batches are conducted safely, punctually, and in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and relevant regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise various manufacturing stages such as granulation, mixing, compression, coating, or sterile filling according to the Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
- Maintain precise and timely documentation within BMRs, equipment logbooks, and line-clearance checklists.
- Manage team activities by assigning shift targets, organizing rosters, and training operators on safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance departments to facilitate scheduled cleaning processes (CIP/SIP), equipment calibration, and address any repairs or breakdowns.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams by reporting deviations, managing line clearances, and assisting during audits and investigations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Three to six years of practical experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing within a regulated environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of cGMP requirements.
- Proven leadership abilities, effective problem-solving skills, and clear communication for shift reporting.
