Role Overview
This is a stable, long-term part-time opportunity that can be carried out remotely. The assignment involves reviewing academic manuscripts in the electrical and electronic field and offering informed, objective feedback to support the journal’s editorial process.
Eligibility and Requirements
- You should hold a PhD or an equivalent advanced doctoral-level qualification in the relevant subject area.
- A minimum of five papers published in SCI or SSCI journals within the last three years is required.
- You must have a solid grasp of research methods and the ethical standards that apply to the discipline.
- Strong analytical ability and sound critical judgment are essential.
- You need excellent written communication skills to deliver clear, concise, and practical reviewer comments.
- The role demands good time management and the ability to meet deadlines reliably.
- Confidentiality and impartiality must be maintained at all times.
- Previous experience reviewing papers for academic journals is strongly preferred.
- Comfort with online manuscript tracking, submission, and review platforms is also important.
Key Responsibilities
- Judge whether a submission brings genuine originality or meaningful new insight to the subject.
- Review the suitability and completeness of the research design and methodology, including whether the work is described well enough to be reproduced.
- Check that the manuscript reflects current and relevant literature appropriately.
- Examine the presentation of findings and verify whether the conclusions are supported by the evidence and have value to the field.
- Offer constructive, specific recommendations while identifying gaps, weaknesses, or ethical issues.
- Provide a recommendation for the editor regarding whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.
