Overview
This is a stable, long-term part-time opportunity that can be done remotely. The role is focused on academic manuscript review in the field of law, where you will help assess the quality, originality, and scholarly value of submissions.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a PhD or an equivalent advanced qualification in the subject area. A strong academic publication record is required, including at least five papers published in SCI or SSCI journals within the last three years. Prior peer-review experience for academic journals is considered a strong advantage.
Key Duties
You will review manuscripts for originality, methodological soundness, relevance of the literature cited, and whether conclusions are properly supported by the evidence. The role also involves identifying issues, offering clear and constructive comments, and helping the editor form a recommendation on acceptance, revision, or rejection.
Additional Requirements
Success in this role depends on strong analytical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to write feedback that is concise, clear, and useful. You should be comfortable working to deadlines, managing your time effectively, maintaining confidentiality, and remaining objective throughout the review process. Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms is also needed.
