Role Overview
The Payroll Officer will be pivotal in ensuring timely and precise payments for employees while maintaining compliance and smooth payroll operations. This role involves managing payroll processes across the organisation, collaborating closely with Finance, People Operations, and HR Business Partners to provide dependable and high-quality payroll services. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and teamwork in a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle payroll and employee payroll queries via MyPay inboxes, addressing issues or escalating when necessary.
- Manage payroll changes such as onboarding new employees, terminations, leaves, and allowances.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including trackers and supporting paperwork.
- Support activities related to superannuation processing, payroll tax, and month-end reporting.
- Prepare employment verification documents, reports, and other payroll-related materials.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance payroll processes to increase efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience
- Prior experience in payroll administration or processing.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Effective communication and organisational capabilities.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of Australian payroll and superannuation regulations.
- Capability to juggle competing tasks and collaborate with varied stakeholders.
