Role Overview
Fyfe is seeking an engaged Payroll Officer to join a collaborative and close-knit team in Adelaide. This position is centered on supporting complete fortnightly payroll operations and working closely with the Payroll Manager, finance colleagues, HR, and other parts of the business. It is a permanent full-time role, although flexible working arrangements and part-time hours may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full payroll cycle from start to finish.
- Manage and monitor the shared payroll email inbox.
- Handle employee questions and respond within agreed time limits.
- Assist with the calculation and payment of statutory requirements such as superannuation, payroll tax, WorkCover, and other government-related obligations.
- Help with employee onboarding into payroll, exits, pay adjustments, superannuation updates, and other payroll changes.
- Step in to run payroll when the Payroll Manager is unavailable.
- Carry out pay reviews and internal audit activities.
- Prepare ad hoc payroll reports as needed.
About You
- You have a sharp eye for detail and enter data accurately.
- You work well in a team-based environment.
- You bring prior payroll experience.
- Experience with Chris 21 would be an advantage, though it is not mandatory.
- You have an interest in making processes better and more efficient.
- You are confident using Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
- You manage your time and workload effectively.
- You communicate clearly and can deal with employees across all levels of the organisation.
