Job description

Role summary

Meta is hiring a Payroll Analyst to oversee payroll activity across the EMEA region. The position focuses on accurate, on-time processing of payroll across multiple countries, while making sure each country’s statutory, tax, and labor-rule obligations are met. You will work closely with HR, Finance, and external payroll partners to provide a smooth payroll experience for employees and help improve processes as Meta’s global workforce continues to expand.

Core responsibilities

  • Work with outsourced payroll support and processing teams to run payroll for entities across EMEA, including France, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Bulgaria, Kenya, Senegal, Nigeria, and Denmark, rotating across payrolls and maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Strengthen internal controls and review existing workflows to improve efficiency, boost accuracy, and support SOX and other regulatory compliance needs.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams such as HR and the Benefits and Equity team, as well as external parties including payroll service providers, government authorities, and auditors, to support business initiatives and resolve payroll issues.
  • Own payroll compliance and statutory filings, including handling requests from local authorities and Internal Audit teams.
  • Review payroll data, prepare analytics for leadership, and identify opportunities to improve processes.
  • Handle payroll-related cases in Salesforce, making sure inquiries are resolved promptly and escalated when needed.
  • Monitor vendor performance, track SLA adherence, perform root-cause analysis, and support remediation plans for payroll issues.
  • Keep current on international payroll rules and compliance obligations to ensure payroll practices remain aligned with local laws.
  • Contribute to regional and global finance operations projects when needed.
  • Take on other operational duties as assigned by management.

Required qualifications

  • Strong organization skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Analytical thinking with a problem-solving approach and a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related subject.
  • At least 5 years of experience in regional payroll operations within international payroll, ideally in a fast-growing multinational environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Celergo and/or SAP.
  • Working knowledge of EMEA payroll rules, tax laws, and compliance standards, with practical experience applying them in multi-country payroll processing.
  • Experience managing offshore payroll teams and collaborating with outsourced vendors and teams spread across different locations.
  • Proven capability in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Curiosity and initiative in improving payroll processes and exploring better ways of working.
  • Strong English communication skills for working with cross-regional teams and external vendors across EMEA.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting payroll operations across 10 or more EMEA countries at the same time.
  • Ongoing development of AI-related skills, such as prompt engineering, context engineering, and agent orchestration, along with awareness of newer AI tools and methods.
  • Understanding of GDPR requirements related to payroll data handling and retention.
  • Exposure to payroll system implementations, migrations, or automation projects.
  • Comfort using Excel or similar tools for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Ability to use AI tools to redesign workflows and deliver measurable gains in efficiency or quality.
  • Experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk review, bias mitigation, and accuracy checks.
