We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint while delivering top-tier solutions with positive environmental and community impacts. Our core values include challenging the status quo through innovation, caring for the environment and stakeholders, and delivering accountability in our actions.

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Manurewa. This role involves managing the complete payroll process alongside providing comprehensive administrative and transactional support to the finance department. Reporting directly to the Payroll Team Leader, you will ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing with a strong emphasis on precision and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain payroll governance, addressing risks and resolving issues including leave reconciliations, journal entries, and end-of-year processes.
  • Ensure payroll operations fully comply with current New Zealand employment laws, Holiday Act stipulations, and KiwiSaver regulations.
  • Conduct weekly payroll runs for 200–300 wage employees and monthly payroll processing for 100–150 salaried staff members.
  • Keep payroll software systems such as ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime, Kronos, and Workday updated and accurate.
  • Support payroll reporting, conduct audits, manage compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll and finance operations.
  • Provide general finance team assistance with invoice processing, expense claims, journal postings, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • 3 to 5 years of extensive payroll experience, preferably handling payrolls of over 200 employees end-to-end.
  • Strong familiarity with complex payroll processing in alignment with the Holidays Act 2003 and New Zealand payroll legislation.
  • Experience using payroll platforms such as ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime, Kronos, Time and Attendance, or Workday is advantageous.
  • Impeccable communication skills paired with a proactive, cooperative mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of identifying and resolving payroll system or data discrepancies.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with teams.
  • Exceptional time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Flexible, adaptive, and customer-oriented attitude with a positive, solution-driven approach.
  • Must hold New Zealand residency or a valid work visa granting full work rights.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • This position offers a hybrid work model: four days weekly onsite and one day working remotely, with full onsite presence during the initial training period.
  • Opportunities for professional growth supported by a global organization.
  • Work for a company committed to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program for employees and their immediate families.
  • Participation in mentoring programs and career development at both local and international levels.
  • A focus on workplace safety guided by a "Go for Zero" strategy encouraging zero harm.
