Role Overview

The Patient Enrollment Coordinator is central to creating a smooth, supportive experience for patients exploring dermatology care with Zest. Acting as one of the first points of contact, this person reaches out to eligible members referred by partner organizations, explains the program, answers questions, and helps interested people schedule their first visit.

The position calls for a mix of empathy, active listening, and clear communication. You will need to establish trust quickly over phone, text, and email, follow established enrollment steps, and use good judgment to adapt your approach to each member’s needs. Success in the role means helping patients feel understood, supported, and ready to begin care with Zest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reach out to eligible members by phone, text, and email to introduce Zest and explain the benefits of the program.
  • Use rapport-building and motivational interviewing approaches to encourage members to enroll.
  • Handle a daily list of outreach tasks and keep follow-ups organized so conversion opportunities are maximized.
  • Record all member interactions accurately and without delay in the EMR/CRM.
  • Work toward or surpass enrollment and call-quality targets while keeping the experience patient-focused.
  • Conduct outreach with strong communication and a caring, professional tone.
  • Gauge member wellbeing through written communication and approved survey tools.
  • Communicate Zest’s partnership value clearly to prospective patients.
  • Stay current on Zest’s care model and partner programs.
  • Share member feedback and repeated enrollment challenges with internal teams.
  • Protect member data and follow HIPAA requirements at all times.
  • Coordinate with dermatology providers so they receive needed patient details before virtual appointments.
  • Support communication between members and the care team according to Zest’s workflows.
  • Help patients use the virtual platform and resolve basic technical problems related to appointments.
  • Work with IT to relay ideas and feedback that can improve the technology experience.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a patient-facing or outreach role, such as healthcare enrollment, patient access, social work, or customer engagement.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills, along with a confident and empathetic phone presence.
  • Comfort with virtual care platforms; startup experience is a plus.
  • Strong organization, tech fluency, and the ability to manage call queues, CRM/EMR tools, and multi-channel outreach.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical practices.
  • Self-driven and dependable, with the ability to maintain a consistent part-time remote schedule.
  • Spanish bilingual ability is preferred.
  • Must be located in the United States.
