Job Overview

As we expand, Lumicera is looking to add a Patient Care Assistant who will support the Specialty Pharmacy programs under the supervision of the Pharmacy Services Supervisor. This role primarily involves communicating effectively with patients, healthcare providers, pharmacists, and insurers to facilitate the dispensing and care process associated with specialty pharmacy medications.

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Work Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT, Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CT
  • Remote work is available but not to residents of Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington DC, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and healthcare professionals about specialty pharmacy activities
  • Place outbound calls to patients to confirm shipment details and ask predetermined questions as needed
  • Use internal systems to monitor patient therapy progress and manage refill adherence
  • Assist in answering calls and direct clinical queries to licensed healthcare personnel
  • Adhere to all relevant federal and state laws, maintaining the highest standards of legality and ethics
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred
  • One to two years of experience in customer service is desirable
  • Prior experience in pharmacy or healthcare settings favored
  • Commitment to compliance program participation and objectives
  • Ability to interact respectfully and cooperatively with colleagues
