Job Overview
The Parts Sales Engineer is responsible for collaborating with the Business Unit to achieve sales growth targets and expanding into new markets to secure a strong market share for spare parts each year. The role involves formulating robust strategies and plans aimed at increasing the market share and revenue of spare parts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly manage all leads to ensure timely fulfillment and profitability for the business unit.
- Prepare precise sales forecasts and pipeline plans for management's strategic planning.
- Promote Service Sales (aftermarket products) actively with distributors alongside spare parts sales.
- Work closely with the sales team to devise strategies targeting new opportunities within existing accounts.
- Possess extensive knowledge of a broad range of diesel industrial engines (from small to large capacity) to offer technical support to distributors regarding spare parts.
- Optimize inventory levels, including own stock and consignment stock at customer sites, to balance low stocking costs with adequate parts availability.
- Maintain comprehensive records of projects, pricing, sales, and sales activities.
- Prepare and deliver proposal presentations to sales representatives, customers, and potential clients.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake any additional duties related to parts sales and aftermarket as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in spare parts or automotive sectors.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% within the Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia regions.
- Excellent presentation abilities complemented by strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for spare parts and power generation products.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication capabilities.
- Self-driven and results-focused, demonstrating solid business and commercial acumen.
- Experience with engine manufacturers in spare parts roles is an advantage.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is beneficial.
