Job Summary

The Parts Room Clerk will manage the procurement and organization of parts and materials essential for plant maintenance. Utilizing tools such as a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or manual record keeping, this role ensures smooth operations by promptly supplying parts, maintaining inventory, and handling vendor communications in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Place orders for parts and supplies through the purchasing system.
• Maintain proper inventory levels to ensure availability.
• Keep precise records, including files, logbooks, and system entries.
• Utilize CMMS software for parts management.
• Respond promptly to requests from the maintenance team for parts.
• Coordinate with vendors via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
• Unload incoming delivery trucks efficiently.
• Issue parts against work orders and process purchase orders.
• Manage warranty core returns.
• Conduct cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
• Review purchase orders and verify invoice postings.
• Restock inventory as needed.
• Use tools like barcode scanners and labelers for organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in industrial or commercial parts rooms.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and tools.
• Preferred experience with CMMS systems, particularly Somax, and purchasing software.

Additional Details

The hourly pay ranges between $16.96 and $23.32, with exact compensation influenced by market data, internal equity, location, and candidate expertise. Besides base wages, the total rewards package may include annual incentives and specific program awards. Physical and Work Environment Considerations: Team members must wear appropriate protective equipment, endure standing for prolonged times, and occasionally lift weights up to 50 pounds. The environment includes a production plant setting with wet and slippery floors, variable temperatures averaging 40°F, exposure to raw and cooked meat products, and moving machinery. Compliance with food safety and quality standards is mandatory.
