Role Overview
The Parts Manager is in charge of the full parts workflow for the collision center, including purchasing, intake, stock control, and distribution. The role is essential for keeping technicians supplied with the correct components on time so repairs stay on schedule and the shop runs efficiently. It also includes managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and handling returns, claims, and credits.
Key Responsibilities
This position covers ordering parts based on repair requirements, keeping inventory accurate and organized, checking incoming shipments for quality and correctness, and making sure parts are stored and issued properly. The role also involves tracking shortages, preventing excess stock, coordinating with technicians and other team members, resolving supplier issues, maintaining records, and preparing regular updates on parts usage and spending. CCC one must be used for parts handling, repair order processing, and attaching invoices to each file.
Requirements
Applicants should be skilled in automotive parts procurement and inventory control, comfortable negotiating with suppliers, and able to manage returns and warranty-related claims. Strong coordination with estimators, service advisors, and technicians is necessary, along with the ability to communicate delays or backorders quickly. Proficiency in CCC one is required.
