Role Summary
This permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE) role is based remotely for candidates authorized to work in the UK. The start date is 1st September 2026. Salary ranges from £34,500 to £43,500 annually, pro-rated to reflect part-time work.
Unique Working Arrangement
Academy21 uses an Annualised Working Time contract allowing for flexible workload distribution throughout the year. Working hours vary with student enrolments, with zero work months such as September, October, and July while maintaining full pay. This unique model offers up to four months of paid non-working time to pursue other interests or personal development during term periods.
Candidate Profile

- Proven record of outstanding academic and professional achievements.
- Strong subject expertise and passion for Humanities and English, enabling inspiring teaching and student progress.
- Experience in student assessment, providing constructive feedback to improve academic outcomes including external exams.
- Ability to provide pastoral care and foster student wellbeing with emphasis on individual support and welfare standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative and independent working style, building positive relationships with families.
- Active engagement in continuous professional growth.
- Effective organizational abilities to manage diverse tasks, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- Possession of PGCE, QTS, or equivalent qualifications with superior academic credentials; postgraduate study is advantageous.
- A proactive, energetic, and adaptable approach to dynamic school environments.
