Job Summary

The New York Post is seeking a Part-Time Photo Editor to join their dynamic Photo Department, contributing approximately 29 hours weekly. This role is pivotal in enhancing storytelling through impactful imagery across various digital platforms within a fast-moving newsroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver rapid visual content for breaking news and trending topics.
  • Respond to photo requests by producing high-quality images for both digital and print formats.
  • Conduct research on live events in news, sports, and politics.
  • Design compelling visual composites for the homepage.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a multi-platform digital media outlet.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced newsroom setting.
  • Strong familiarity with major photo agencies, wire services, and agents.
  • Demonstrated skills in photo research and social media verification.
  • Excellent editorial judgment encompassing news, sports, and entertainment sectors.
  • Digital-first approach with experience tailoring photos for multiple platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.

Work Schedule

This position requires working Sunday through Wednesday from 5 PM to 12 AM EST.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay ranges from $25 to $40 per hour, depending on experience and other factors. Eligible employees may receive bonuses based on performance and market benchmarks.
