Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a committed dietitian to evaluate patients’ nutritional requirements, create and execute customized dietary plans, and provide education on healthy eating practices. This position also involves instructing patients on diets following hospital discharge, tracking their nutritional progress, and working closely with healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and communicate with patients as directed by physicians.
  • Assess referral orders to determine suitable nutrition intake methods.
  • Maintain precise documentation of patient details in medical records.
  • Develop and manage nutrition care plans and modify menus to accommodate special dietary needs.
  • Perform calorie assessments and offer nutrition guidance.
  • Evaluate and authorize menus ensuring they meet nutritional standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian certified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Possess a valid state license to practice dietetics.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Food and Nutrition from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred candidates have membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a minimum of one year clinical dietetics experience.

Personal Attributes

A strong enthusiasm for promoting health through nutrition, excellent communication abilities, and teamwork skills are essential to succeed in this role.
